The support provided by the Fondation’s donors makes a huge difference in the lives of the young people we work with. For many of them, receiving that assistance means becoming aware that people believe in them and are ready to support them. That feeling is often a first for those young people.
Each person faces different challenges and issues. When someone has earned a diploma that they worked hard for, we need to acknowledge that. It’s a major achievement and a source of pride that must be shared! But we also celebrate things like the courage of a young man who overcame his anxiety to get out of the house and attend his Tuesday morning class, for instance. The road to graduation has many ups and downs, and every little step is important.
When they reach adult age, youths in the care of the DYP must assume major costs every month. Paying the rent, utilities, Internet, groceries, transportation, etc. Become a caring ally to these youths who must often sacrifice their education for a job, resulting in their financial insecurity.

The Fondation saved me a lot of financial stress when I was at school. Not only did it pay for part of my tuition fees, books, computer and assist me occasionally with grocery gift cards, the Fondation was also there to help me out from time to time. When I started my first internship at the hospital, my white coat was stained. I was embarrassed to start a new job with clothes that were less than perfect. Once again, my youth worker was happy to help me get a new coat. As trivial as it might seem, this support made all the difference.
