Donating goods to youths in the care of the DYP can have a significant impact—it not only provides them with essential material resources, but also a feeling of support and hope, and thus help them overcome the challenges they face and to imagine a brighter future.
Criteria for accepting donated goods
All acts of generosity are appreciated, but there are some criteria for accepting donated goods to ensure the donor’s thoughtful donation meets the needs of the youths and the organization is capable of handling the donation.
- Condition of the goods: All donated goods must in very good condition. This would guarantee that the items fully meet the needs of the youth receiving them.
- Suitability: Before accepting any donation, the form will be evaluated to ensure that the goods being donated are suitable and actually meet the needs of the youths and in line with the Fondation’s mission and programs. You will receive a response from our team within three business days.
- Documentation: It is crucial to provide the Fondation with the purchase invoice for the good(s) so that we can issue you a tax receipt.
Should the Fondation decide that it’s unable to accept your donation once it receives your form, it could be transferred to our partner Le Chaînon. This organization’s mission complements the Fondation’s mission. Le Chaînon has the infrastructure to maximize the donation of goods (two stores, a warehouse, a transport truck, etc.).
This partnership also allows youths and families in precarious situations being followed by the DYP to get access to generous gift cards to buy the goods they need for the transition to adulthood as well as the basic necessities (furniture and clothing) at the Chaînon stores.
Thank you for your generosity!
Donating goods can help the well-being of youths in the care of the DYP and bring them some comfort.
