$650,000 to support youth in different regions across Quebec

October 21, 2025

Following the resounding success of its 2025 call for proposals, the Fondation is proud to contribute $650,000 to advance 19 impactful projects across the province. The selected innovative initiatives are designed to provide essential assistance to youth in the care of the DYP, making it easier for them to stay in school and transition to adulthood.

Helping vulnerable youth at key stages in their lives

Together, we have the power to change how youth in care see their future. That’s why the Fondation is encouraging everyone to join in a collective effort to help youth in care achieve well-being by building self-esteem and finding the courage and confidence to believe in a world of possibilities. Our call for joint action is in line with two of our signature programs: Transitioning Towards an Autonomous Life and School Perseverance.

Supporting youth as they transition out of care

Turning 18 marks a significant milestone in the lives of youth—transitioning from adolescence to adulthood. This is especially true for youth in the youth protection system, who often have no social safety net to turn to as they try to stand on their own two feet and build their independence.

For the fourth year running, the Fondation is providing financial assistance to organizations in different regions of Quebec to support youth through that transition, by helping them secure stable housing, acquire skills, reintegrate into the community and access psychosocial follow-up care.

Helping youth stay in school

We know that education has the power to make a positive, lasting difference for youth whose lives have been marked by adversity. That’s why, this year, the Fondation is also extending funding to support projects that improve educational outcomes for youth in care aged 6–25 who are struggling with learning difficulties.

Our mission is to provide essential assistance to youth at pivotal moments in their lives by working in partnership with organizations across Quebec. It’s what guides everything we do. That’s why, this year, we have expanded our funding to include programs that help youth stay in school and prepare them for independent living. And it’s all thanks to the generosity of our donors. Together we’re sustaining impactful projects that truly change lives, helping youth in need of protection chart a course toward a better future.

Working together to meet the real needs of youth in care

For youth in need of protection, practical help can make all the difference. That support might look like a transitional apartment, a training program tailored to their needs or a scholarship to encourage them to stay in school. It can also mean access to post-housing follow-up to break isolation, apartment start-up kits, personalized guidance or driving classes for those in remote areas so they can get to work or school. Each initiative opens the door to a brighter future.

By teaming up with local organizations that work directly with those youth, we make sure we provide assistance where it’s needed most while remaining sensitive to regional differences.

“Envol vers l’autonomie” by Fondation jeunesse du CISSS de Chaudière-Appalaches is one of 19 projects supported by Fondation des jeunes de la DPJ.
