$907,000: record amount raised for the Fondation des jeunes de la DPJ

The Fondation des jeunes de la DPJ’s year-end campaign capped off with a record $907,000 raised! While everyone is talking about inflation, Quebecers have proven to be especially generous in offering real help to youths in the care of the DYP. Not only were we able to give them a magical Christmas, but this outpouring of generosity will make it possible to meet the pressing needs brought to the Fondation’s attention throughout the year.

RECORD AMOUNT RAISED AND THOUSANDS OF GIFTS

Up 700%

Time to go over the pre- and post-pandemic data. The Fondation des jeunes de la DPJ has been able to significantly boost the assistance provided to children and teens in need of protection owing to this amazing rise in public engagement.

In comparing the 2022 Christmas campaign to the 2019 pre-pandemic campaign, there was a huge 700% increase in donations, which brought much needed assistance at Christmastime, and throughout the year.

THE FONDATION: A VECTOR OF CHANGE

Last fall, the Fondation announced that it was able to help 1 out of 4 youths in the care of the DYP in Quebec with their transition to adulthood. The Fondation also distributed twice as much aid to address food insecurity. And the Fondation plans to build on this momentum to keep supporting more youths.

The Fondation des jeunes de la DPJ would like to wholeheartedly thank all the donors, partners and volunteers who made this Christmas campaign a success and who helped with the major gift drive.
