The Fondation des jeunes de la DPJ and the Quebec Bar Foundation are proud to announce an innovative collaboration to benefit youths in the care of the DYP. The two foundations have come together to support young people studying law or who wish to study law. Whether it be a paralegal diploma, an undergraduate degree, courses at the Quebec bar school or a graduate degree, this collaboration will support youths in the care of the DYP with their law studies and in achieving their professional goal.
For 45 years now, the Quebec Bar Foundation has been playing its role by supporting legal research, by encouraging excellence through its legal competitions, by offering internship scholarships to law students, by giving web conferences for attorneys and the public and taking part in projects that promote access to justice and a more just and inclusive society.
This partnership with the Fondation des jeunes de la DPJ is part of the Quebec Bar Foundation’s 2022–2025 focus on youth initiative and is also in line with their scholarship program.
This year, four youths aged between 17 and 23 are benefiting from the support of both foundations. Two students are in paralegal studies and two others are enrolled in a Bachelor of Laws program.
This association is a perfect example of the engagement that the Fondation des jeunes de la DPJ is establishing in Quebec. We need to take care of them collectively and all of society’s actors can contribute in their own way. Our partner, the Quebec Bar Foundation, is sending a clear message to youths taken under the care of the DYP: it believes in them and in their potential. It’s a really powerful message that must be heard!
This partnership enables the Quebec Bar Foundation and the Fondation des jeunes de la DPJ to join forces to help these young people develop their independence and to pursue their studies.
