When they reach adult age, youths in the care of the DYP must assume major costs every month. Paying the rent, utilities, Internet, groceries, transportation, etc. When you give monthly to the Fondation, you become a steady, caring presence in the lives of youth who must often drop out of school to start working, putting themselves at risk of financial insecurity.

When I started my first internship at the hospital, my white coat was stained. I was embarrassed to start a new job with clothes that were less than perfect. Once again, my youth worker was happy to help me get a new coat. As trivial as it might seem, this support made all the difference.
