Fondation des jeunes de la DPJ is pleased to announce the nomination of Ms. Geneviève Gagnon as Director of Programs, Impact and Community Relations. This position has been created following a significant increase in the Foundation’s contributions over the past year to young people under the Director of Youth Protection (DYP) and in transition to independent living.
Ms. Gagnon holds a master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Montréal as well as a Diplôme d’études spécialisées in European Studies from The Hague University. Starting in 2016, she was an advisor and then director of partner experience for Montréal International, where she made a significant impact on the development of partnership programs, the research and acquisition of new sources of funding as well as the quality of business relationships. In 2018, she was part of the 7th cohort of the A-Effect 100-Day Challenge. Previously, she worked for One Drop, where she contributed to the drafting of operational plans for a portfolio of projects worth over $100 million, for various federal departments as well as the Canadian Embassy in Washington and during a mandate for the Sustainable Development Division of the United Nations Secretariat.
“I welcome this appointment with humility, but also with great determination. I look forward to beginning this new period of my professional life, working for the success of the Foundation’s mission and being part of a team whose values align with mine. I am very motivated and touched by the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of these young people and would like to give them a little hope, despite the challenges they face. By ensuring the strategic development of the programs and the full support of our various partners, we will be able to achieve great things!” adds Geneviève Gagnon.
“We are delighted to welcome Geneviève to our team and we are convinced that she will meet the current challenges linked to the development and management of our support programs and the significant expansion of our project portfolio. She is known to be very organized, is always looking for solutions and is capable of innovation. Skilled in process management, she gets projects going with energy and rigour and in addition to being a fine diplomat, she is widely respected for her compassion and consideration of others.
“I am convinced that Geneviève will take up the current challenges with enthusiasm and ensure the development of our programs. She will work with all of our stakeholders, she will provide leadership on various consultation bodies at all levels and will collaborate with the research community,” says Fabienne Audette, Executive Director.
